The negotiation process aimed at ending the war in Ukraine is “on pause,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
According to Peskov, Moscow hopes the United States will resume its mediation efforts. The Kremlin did not announce an agreed date for another round of talks.
Russia and Ukraine continue to have fundamental disagreements over territory, security guarantees, and the conditions for ending hostilities.
The description of the process as being “on pause” reflects the Kremlin’s assessment and does not mean that all diplomatic contacts have formally ended.
