Apple removed 1,213 applications from the Russian App Store in response to government requests during 2025, according to the company’s transparency report.
Russia accounted for the largest number of government demands that resulted in app removals. Worldwide, Apple removed 2,045 apps in response to government requests, meaning more than half of those removals occurred in Russia.
Apple says applications removed at the request of a particular government are generally made unavailable only in that jurisdiction and remain available in other countries.
The Russian figures in the report were highlighted by Important Stories.
