Russia’s Digital Development Ministry expanded the list of information that must be available for search and transfer to authorized agencies through SORM, the country’s system for operational and investigative surveillance.
The new requirements include, among other things, address and passport information, taxpayer identification numbers, banking details, IP addresses, domains, logins, geographic coordinates, and information about organizations.
The document also clarifies technical methods for exchanging information between operators’ systems and SORM.
SORM is used by Russian security and law-enforcement agencies for operational and investigative activities. The changes expand the amount of information that must be technically accessible through the system.
