Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s Civil Contract party won Armenia’s parliamentary election with 49.81% of the vote.
The result gave the party 61 of the 105 seats in parliament, allowing it to form a government on its own.
The main opposition force, Strong Armenia, received 23.29% of the vote.
International observers said the election offered voters a genuine political choice and was generally well organized.
At the same time, they pointed to direct external pressure during the campaign, including trade restrictions and security threats aimed at influencing voters in favor of the opposition.
Russian authorities rejected accusations of interference in Armenia’s internal affairs.
