Russia launched another large-scale missile and drone attack on Kyiv overnight on July 6, the second major strike on the Ukrainian capital in four days.
According to Ukraine’s Air Force, Russian forces used 68 missiles of various types and 351 strike drones.
Ukraine said the missiles included 23 ballistic missiles and six Zircon hypersonic missiles, and that none of those had been intercepted.
After search-and-rescue operations ended, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service reported 19 people killed and 61 wounded in Kyiv itself.
Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were damaged.
The previous major strike on July 2 killed at least 30 civilians in Kyiv. The repeated attacks renewed concerns about Ukraine’s ability to defend against large-scale missile strikes.
