The share of surveyed Russians who approve of Vladimir Putin’s performance as president fell by five percentage points in one week to 66%, according to polling by the Public Opinion Foundation, or FOM.
The survey was conducted on July 10–12.
The share of respondents expressing trust in Putin also fell, from 69% to 67%.
VTsIOM, another major Russian state-linked polling organization, also recorded a decline in Putin’s ratings during the period, though it was less pronounced: its approval figure fell by less than one percentage point.
According to Meduza, the drop in FOM’s figure was the sharpest weekly decline in Putin’s approval rating since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The results of any individual opinion poll reflect its own sample and methodology and should not be treated as a direct measurement of the views of every person in Russia.
