Five people were killed and 10 injured in a drone attack on the Moscow region overnight on August 4, regional governor Andrei Vorobyov said.
The most serious consequences were reported in Chekhov. A warehouse caught fire, while an electrical substation and another building were also damaged.
The governor did not identify the company that owned the burning warehouse or specify exactly where the people who were killed had been at the time of the strike.
Drones also struck warehouse facilities in other Russian regions.
In the Leningrad region, a fire broke out at a Wildberries warehouse near St. Petersburg. In the Tver region, drones damaged another facility belonging to the company. No deaths were reported in those two attacks.
Wildberries has become one of the large Russian companies repeatedly affected by drone strikes: numerous warehouses and logistics centers belonging to the retailer have been hit since July 18.
Ukraine significantly expanded the scale of long-range drone attacks on Russian territory during 2026. Kyiv says it is seeking to strike Russian military, industrial, energy and logistics infrastructure.
Russian authorities, for their part, accuse Ukraine of attacking civilian targets.
There is no basis, however, for stating that the warehouse in Chekhov associated with the main loss of life on August 4 belonged to Wildberries.
