Russia’s Supreme Court on August 10 granted a lawsuit filed by the Rodina party and canceled the registration of Yabloko’s federal candidate list for the State Duma election.
The court cited violations of election law. The allegations included the use of texts, images, and videos in campaign materials without permission from copyright holders.
Another ground involved donations from counterparties who themselves had received money from abroad. A Rosfinmonitoring report presented in court said seven such counterparties received about 2.8 million rubles from foreign sources and donated a total of 16,900 rubles to Yabloko.
Yabloko denied wrongdoing and said there were no legal grounds for removing the party from the election.
It was the only registered party in the federal election openly advocating an end to the war against Ukraine.
