Russia’s Foreign Ministry said it sees no grounds for a mutual truce with Ukraine in the Black Sea.
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova made the statement in response to a question about Turkey’s proposal to establish a mechanism for a moratorium on military actions in the Black Sea.
Zakharova also said Russia had not received a formal Turkish proposal containing specific terms through official channels.
At the same time, she said Moscow saw no reason for what she described as “half measures” that, in Russia’s view, would give Ukraine a temporary respite.
A day earlier, Reuters, citing sources, reported that Ukraine had proposed through an intermediary that Russia and Ukraine mutually halt strikes against civilian targets in the Black Sea.
