Britain has authorized missile manufacturer MBDA to disclose classified information about British components of the SCALP cruise missile to Ukraine in order to help establish assembly on Ukrainian territory.
SCALP is the French version of Britain’s Storm Shadow missile. Producing the system requires technology from both countries, meaning France must also authorize the transfer of information related to its components.
The decision therefore does not amount to Britain handing Ukraine a complete set of “Storm Shadow blueprints.” It concerns classified technical information on components needed to establish Ukrainian assembly lines.
