Russia’s Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case against journalist and Dozhd TV presenter Yekaterina Kotrikadze under Part 2 of Article 330.1 of the Russian Criminal Code, which covers evasion of obligations imposed under the country’s “foreign agent” legislation.
Investigators allege that Kotrikadze repeatedly failed to comply with requirements imposed on people designated by Russian authorities as “foreign agents.”
Criminal liability under the article can follow previous administrative penalties for violations of “foreign agent” requirements.
Kotrikadze lives and works outside Russia.
