Two State Duma candidates from the Yabloko party, Anna Shatunovskaya-Byurno and Grigory Grishin, have been detained in Moscow.
Administrative cases were opened against both under Article 20.3 of the Russian Code of Administrative Offenses, which covers the display of symbols of an extremist organization.
According to Yabloko, the case against Grishin was linked to a post published on his Telegram channel in 2024. The reason for the case against Shatunovskaya-Byurno was not initially disclosed in detail.
The detentions came amid a series of administrative and court cases targeting Yabloko candidates ahead of the elections.
