Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a three-day pause in strikes on Kyiv as U.S. mediators traveled to Moscow and Ukraine.
The Ukrainian side said it was prepared in return to refrain from strikes on Moscow during the same period.
At the Kremlin, U.S. President Donald Trump’s representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner held more than three hours of talks with Putin. The main topic was a potential end to Russia’s war against Ukraine.
No breakthrough was announced after the meeting.
The pause applied to strikes on Kyiv and did not amount to a broader ceasefire. Fighting continued along the front line.
