The Anti-Corruption Foundation has published an investigation into property and business connections involving relatives and people close to Moscow region Governor Andrei Vorobyov.
The assets described include a large estate outside Moscow registered to the governor’s mother as well as property owned by people close to him in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Dubai, France and other locations.
FBK says Yekaterina Bogdasarova, with whom Vorobyov has been in a long-term relationship and has children, purchased a 247-square-meter apartment in Dubai in 2024. Investigators estimate its value at around 350 million rubles. FBK also provides information about property belonging to the governor’s brother Maxim Vorobyov and other relatives.
A separate part of the investigation examines the family’s business interests. FBK recalls Gennady Timchenko’s involvement in Russian Sea and the governor’s brother’s partnership with developer Samolet, which carries out major projects in the Moscow region.
Based on these circumstances, FBK argues that the family’s wealth is connected to the Vorobyovs’ political and administrative influence. That is a conclusion of the investigation: family, property and business connections alone do not establish that particular decisions by regional authorities were made to enrich the governor’s family.
