Russia and Ukraine continued attacks on energy and fuel facilities after U.S. President Donald Trump said the two countries had supposedly reached an “energy truce.”
Ukrainian forces attacked the Syzran oil refinery in Russia’s Samara region, as well as other targets inside Russia.
Russia launched around 200 drones against Ukraine the same night. Gas stations were damaged in Kyiv, and strikes also hit infrastructure in other regions. Ukrainian authorities said two people were killed.
The Kremlin later described the idea of mutually halting attacks on energy infrastructure as “very good,” but did not say that Russia had already joined any specific bilateral agreement.
The continuation of attacks showed that Trump’s announcement did not produce an immediate halt to strikes on energy infrastructure.
