Russia launched a large-scale missile and drone attack on Kyiv and other regions of Ukraine on September 17. More than 20 people were injured, according to Ukrainian authorities.
Reuters reported that eight regions were affected. Around 20 people were injured in Kyiv, while damage was also reported in Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, and other cities.
In the Black Sea, a Russian drone struck a civilian vessel sailing under the Tanzanian flag and bound for a Ukrainian port, Ukrainian authorities said. The captain was killed and three other crew members were injured.
Poland scrambled military aircraft as Russian strikes took place near its border, and the airports in Rzeszow and Lublin temporarily suspended operations. The Polish military said there had been no violation of the country’s airspace.
