After most ballots had been counted on September 21, Russia’s Central Election Commission projected that United Russia would win 355 of the 450 seats in the State Duma.
That result would have given the party a constitutional majority and the largest parliamentary faction in its history. Its previous record was 343 seats, won in 2016.
The figure of 355 seats was, however, a preliminary projection, not the final election result.
On September 25, the Central Election Commission announced the final results: United Russia won 349 seats. The Communist Party received 37 seats, the Liberal Democratic Party 23, New People 19, A Just Russia 17, and Rodina one; four seats went to independent candidates.
