Russia carried out a series of attacks across Ukraine on September 28, using, among other weapons, faster jet-powered drones. At least 10 people were killed nationwide and more than 80 were injured, according to Ukrainian authorities as cited by Reuters at the time of publication.
In central Kyiv, a drone struck a building of Ukraine’s National Academy of Sciences. Authorities said two people were killed there and 24 were injured.
In Dnipro, a strike on a business center killed three people and injured another 19, according to local authorities.
Reuters noted that the faster jet-powered drones create additional difficulties for Ukrainian air defenses because they leave less time for detection and interception.
The casualty figures were based on information from Ukrainian authorities and could be revised after the initial reporting.
