European Union foreign ministers formally approved nearly 1,600 new Russia-related sanctions listings.
The decision completed a process that EU ambassadors had provisionally approved several days earlier.
EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said more than half of the new listings were connected to Russia’s ballistic-missile production chain.
The new restrictions primarily target Russia’s military-industrial sector.
The move was one of the largest single expansions of the EU’s Russia sanctions lists since the start of the full-scale war.
