Russian forces continued attacking Ukrainian energy infrastructure after U.S. President Donald Trump announced what he described as a Russia-Ukraine energy ceasefire.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at least six energy facilities had been struck. Ukrainian authorities said the targets included gas infrastructure and a filling station.
The attacks caused civilian casualties and further infrastructure damage.
The Kremlin rejected the idea of a short-term energy ceasefire in the form discussed publicly and said a broader agreement to end the war was needed.
The continued attacks showed that Trump’s October 11 announcement did not result in an immediate halt to Russian strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
