Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting on cybersecurity on October 14 with representatives of the government, security agencies, the Bank of Russia and major Russian companies.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the development of artificial intelligence and other technologies creates not only new opportunities but also potential threats if they are used by states for offensive purposes.
The meeting included government ministers, security officials, Sberbank CEO German Gref and Bank of Russia Governor Elvira Nabiullina.
Peskov separately stressed that the meeting was part of a broader, systematic discussion of cybersecurity and was not directly linked to recent Ukrainian drone attacks on four Russian data centers — three operated by Yandex and one by Sberbank.
