Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi expressed regret on October 18 over a drone incident in Lithuania and apologized for the possible alarm and risks it had caused residents. His post on X was reported by European Pravda.
Tykhyi suggested that Russian electronic warfare might have affected the flight paths of Ukrainian drones. He also said Ukraine intended to work with Lithuanian authorities to establish the circumstances of the incident.
Lithuanian authorities had previously reported finding debris from a suspected drone. According to reports citing Lithuanian officials, a car was damaged, and no injuries had been reported at the time.
The suggestion that Russian electronic warfare altered the drones’ course remains the Ukrainian side’s hypothesis. It does not in itself establish the origin of the debris or replace the findings of an investigation by Lithuanian authorities.
