Drones struck an Ozon logistics center in the Russian city of Omsk on October 24, causing a fire and prompting the evacuation of employees. The company said preliminary information indicated that no one had been injured.
Omsk region Governor Vitaly Khotsenko said drones had reached the city's northern industrial area. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene.
Ozon subsequently confirmed that its logistics center had been hit. The company suspended operations at the damaged facility and announced changes to how orders would be processed.
Goods stored at the warehouse were temporarily made unavailable for new orders. Ozon said it would cancel some existing orders that could not be fulfilled from other locations while redirecting the remaining orders to operating logistics centers.
Shipments already in transit were being rerouted to other warehouses. The company had not provided a final estimate of the damage or a timetable for restoring full operations when it issued its initial statements.
Reports about the attack also mentioned the Omsky Kauchuk petrochemical plant.
The independent outlet ASTRA analyzed published videos and reported signs that several facilities within the industrial area had been hit. Ukrainian monitoring channels also circulated footage of a fire they associated with the Omsky Kauchuk site.
Those reports, however, should not be presented as official confirmation of damage to the plant. Ozon itself confirmed the strike on its warehouse, while reports about other possible targets were based primarily on visual analysis and monitoring channels.
A drone alert was declared in Omsk region during the attack, and Omsk airport temporarily restricted arriving and departing flights. The restrictions were subsequently lifted.
Omsk lies more than 2,000 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. The strike on the logistics center marked another case of damage to civilian commercial infrastructure deep inside Russian territory.
Available information did not independently establish who carried out the attack or how many facilities were struck.
