Moscow’s Ostankinsky District Court fined activist Natalia Pronko 10,000 rubles under Part 5 of Article 20.2 of Russia’s Administrative Code, which covers violations of rules governing public events.
The case concerned her presence outside Russia’s Supreme Court on August 10, when the court was hearing proceedings related to the removal of Yabloko’s federal candidate list from the State Duma election.
Pronko says she had come to attend the hearing as a member of the public, was standing in line to enter the courthouse and did not take part in any rally.
It would therefore be too categorical to state as fact that she was fined solely for “standing in line”; that is Pronko’s account of the circumstances.
SOTAvision and RusNews first reported the case, with OVD-Info later documenting it.
