Russia's 2nd Western District Military Court sentenced Mikhail Bobrov, a 30-year-old architect from Ivanovo, to eight years and six months in prison in a case involving donations to Artpodgotovka. The court's press office reported the decision on October 26.
Bobrov was convicted of financing terrorism under Article 205.1, Part 1.1, of Russia's Criminal Code. He is to spend the first two years in prison and the remainder of his sentence in a high-security penal colony. The court also imposed a fine of 300,000 rubles.
As Mediazona found in court records, the case concerns 19 transfers made between March and May 2023, each amounting to between 100 and 300 rubles.
In court, Bobrov said he made the payments to gain the ability to post comments on politician Vyacheslav Maltsev's platforms, join discussions and ask questions.
Russian authorities have designated Artpodgotovka, a movement associated with Maltsev, as a terrorist organization. That legal designation underpins the charge of financing terrorism.
According to Mediazona, the FSB opened the case on July 9, 2026. Bobrov was subsequently remanded in custody and added to Rosfinmonitoring's register.
