Foreign ministers attending the G20 meeting in Atlanta on October 30 did not take the customary group photograph after European participants objected to appearing alongside Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Reuters and the Associated Press reported.
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul said European ministers did not regard relations with Russia as normal and therefore did not want to pose for a photograph with Lavrov. Reuters reported that some other participants also declined to join a group picture.
The ministerial talks themselves went ahead as scheduled.
