Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on October 30 that 862 drones had been heading toward the Moscow region since the previous evening. According to him, 170 were neutralized on the approaches to the capital, while a substantial share of the others were intercepted by air defenses farther away.
Sobyanin put the reported attack between 8:30 p.m. on October 29 and 7:30 a.m. on October 30. Russian media reported temporary restrictions on arrivals and departures at all four Moscow airports during the attack.
For the preceding night, October 28–29, Sobyanin had reported 613 drones heading toward the capital. Following airspace restrictions, St. Petersburg’s Pulkovo Airport received 27 flights diverted from the Moscow aviation hub.
