Reports of a fire and smoke emerged on October 31 over Ufa's northern industrial district, home to Bashneft oil refineries. A drone alert had been issued overnight in Bashkortostan. Russia's Defense Ministry said it had intercepted drones over the region but did not specify whether any industrial facilities were damaged.
After examining eyewitness photographs, ASTRA suggested that the fire was at the Bashneft-Novoil refinery. Its OSINT analyst said a catalytic reforming unit known as L-35 might have been affected. The identification remains tentative: the photographs alone do not independently establish the extent of any damage.
