Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski called on October 30 for a ceasefire in the Black Sea to be agreed as quickly as possible to ensure safe grain shipments from Ukraine and Russia. Speaking at a G20 foreign ministers' meeting in Atlanta, he emphasized the importance of those shipments for food supplies to countries in the Global South.
Sikorski also stressed that Ukraine must be involved in any effort to end Russia's war and that Europe must have a say in negotiations. He said Russia should end the war on just terms before it could resume energy exports to Europe.
