Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) said on November 1 that it had detained a minor in Moscow while investigating information about a threat at the Tsaritsyno museum-reserve. The previous day, the US Embassy had warned of a possible mass-casualty incident at the park. The FSB linked the detention to its investigation of information received from the American side.
According to the FSB, the teenager's TikTok account featured a photograph showing him in tactical clothing with an object resembling a weapon, as well as images of Tsaritsyno. The agency said one post carried the English caption, “I found a place.”
The security service reported examining the teenager's account and electronic devices. It also said it had investigated the information together with the National Guard, the Interior Ministry and the Investigative Committee. The FSB linked the threat to the cancellation of events and tighter security measures and thanked the US side for sharing information.
