An industrial facility in the Kstovo district of Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region sustained severe damage in a large-scale drone attack overnight on November 1, Governor Gleb Nikitin said. According to Nikitin, more than 100 drones were destroyed over the region overnight and in the morning. Initial reports from regional authorities indicated no casualties.
Nikitin did not identify the damaged facility. Ukrainian monitoring channels linked the fire to the Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez refinery in Kstovo, and video emerged showing flames and thick smoke over the industrial area. Neither Russian authorities nor Lukoil confirmed damage to the refinery itself. The footage does not establish the consequences for oil processing.
In The Insider’s own tally, this incident was counted as at least the seventh attack linked to the Kstovo refinery since April 2026.
