Romania’s Defense Ministry said its radars detected two drones entering the country’s northeastern airspace on the evening of October 31. The military scrambled four F-16 fighter jets and an IAR-330 SOCAT helicopter to track them.
According to the Romanian ministry’s statement, one drone left Romanian airspace while the other was last seen between Vaslui and Bacău counties. Residents in six counties received warnings, which were lifted at 7:19 p.m. local time. The ministry reported no drone crashes.
Separately, Moldova’s Defense Ministry reported two drones over its territory. Neither ministry identified who had launched the aircraft in its published statement.
