Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen said on November 1 that she had previously proposed restricting Russian athletes’ entry into the Schengen area to her European Union counterparts.
Valtonen also said Finland could introduce its own entry restrictions on athletes from Russia in 2027 if the war against Ukraine continues. She said she intended to initiate the necessary measures in the coming days.
