Russia plans to conduct annual studies measuring the prevalence of what officials call "traditional spiritual and moral values" and tracking changes in the indicators. Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova announced the plans on November 2 at the opening of the International Week "Peoples of Russia" and a national unity forum.
According to Golikova, VTsIOM conducted such a study for the first time in 2026. She characterized the prevalence of traditional values as high and that of "destructive ideology" as low.
Golikova also cited polling by VTsIOM and the National Center "Russia." She said more than 80% of respondents were proud of their Russian citizenship, while 76% named a strong family, having children and raising them as their top priority.
