Krasnodar’s Pervomaisky District Court on November 2 rejected a lawsuit brought by Anastasia Vavilova, a resident of the city’s Yubileiny neighborhood, challenging municipal land-planning decisions for a church project on the embankment.
Vavilova sought to have city administration resolutions No. 62 of January 14 and No. 73 of January 15, 2026, declared unlawful. Residents argued that officials breached statutory deadlines for approving the planning documents. The city maintained that proper procedures had been followed and cited public consultations; the prosecutor found no violations.
The dispute concerns a green area on the embankment that residents want to preserve for walking and recreation. Opponents had previously participated in public consultations and petitioned the authorities. The court dismissed Vavilova’s claim in full, but she said she planned to appeal; the appeal period is one month.
