The Krasnodar Regional Court sentenced a 65-year-old woman who holds Russian and Moldovan citizenship to 14 years in a general-regime penal colony under Article 275 of Russia’s Criminal Code (high treason). The region’s joint court press service announced the sentence on November 2. The court also imposed 18 months of restricted freedom. The verdict has not yet entered into force.
According to the account released by the court press service, the woman had cooperated confidentially with the Moldovan Information and Security Service’s counterintelligence directorate. The Russian court alleged that the Moldovan service was acting in the interests of Ukraine’s Security Service.
The press service alleges that in February 2026 the woman photographed a Russian Defense Ministry facility in the Krasnodar region and sent the images through a messaging app to a representative of Moldovan counterintelligence. The court also described her as an opponent of Russia’s war against Ukraine.
