Latvia's armed forces said they briefly declared an aerial threat in two eastern areas of the country on November 2. According to the military, NATO air-policing fighter jets were activated.
The military later announced that the alert had ended. Its preliminary assessment was that an unidentified airborne object might have fallen on Latvian territory. The object's type and origin have not been established.
