Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree requiring private data centers to set aside 10% of their capacity for the country's IT infrastructure needs, Reuters reported, citing the document.
According to the report, a special commission would be able to demand access to the reserved capacity within 24 hours. Russia's Digital Development Ministry would also be tasked with compiling an inventory of data centers.
The same report says the decree permits temporary use of overseas data-processing infrastructure with the approval of the Federal Security Service (FSB).
