IT listings on freelance platform FL.ru were in fact offers to sign contracts with Russia’s Defence Ministry, according to a journalistic investigation. The posts seeking developers and technical specialists appeared in early October.
The offers advertised military-service terms: a one-time payment of up to 2 million rubles, salaries from 300,000 rubles and possible debt relief. The listings themselves did not tell applicants that the roles involved recruitment for the war.
Reporters contacted the recruiters and were told that the jobs required being physically present at the military duty location and could not be done remotely.
