Russia’s First Western District Military Court sentenced a woman from the Saratov region to 13 years in prison, imposed a 200,000-ruble fine and ordered one year of restrictions on her freedom after release, according to a November 3 statement by the regional Federal Security Service (FSB).
According to Mediazona, the case involved Article 275 of the Russian Criminal Code, covering high treason, and Article 205.1, covering assistance to terrorist activity. SarBK, however, cited Article 205, which covers a terrorist act, instead of Article 205.1. These are different offenses, and the discrepancy cannot be resolved without the court document.
The regional FSB alleged that the woman was acting on instructions from Ukrainian intelligence services and gathering information about the addresses of senior Russian military officers and a critical transport infrastructure facility. It also claimed she was detained while carrying out another assignment and admitted guilt and expressed remorse during the investigation.
