Seventy-three people were reported injured or otherwise affected by an overnight strike on a hospital complex in Kharkiv's Nemyshlianskyi district on November 3, according to Ukrainian prosecutors. They included patients, medical workers and residents of neighboring buildings. Prosecutors said most experienced acute stress reactions, while some sustained injuries from shattered glass.
Investigators believe the strike occurred at around 3:20 a.m. local time and hit a passage connecting hospital buildings. A hospital ward and the facility's facade were damaged, along with a neighboring hospital, a laboratory and residential buildings. Regional administration head Oleh Syniehubov said 226 patients had been transferred to other hospitals.
Officials revised the number of people affected throughout the morning, initially reporting 25 and then 62. Prosecutors said they had collected munition fragments and were preliminarily examining whether a FAB-250 aerial bomb fitted with a guidance module had been used.
An investigation has been opened under Article 438(1) of Ukraine's Criminal Code, concerning violations of the laws and customs of war. This is the Ukrainian investigators' legal classification of the case, not a final court ruling.
