A new administrative case against Gramota LLC, the company operating the Chitai-Gorod bookstore chain, was filed with the Central District Court in Chita on November 3. The filing was found in court records on November 4. The company is accused of violating Russia's ban on so-called "LGBT propaganda." The court has not yet ruled on the new case.
It is the second administrative filing under that provision in Zabaykalsky Krai. In the earlier case, the company was initially fined 800,000 rubles, later reduced to 400,000 rubles. The first proceedings followed a complaint to the Federal Security Service (FSB) over four books and a subsequent linguistic assessment. Court records do not identify the material behind the new filing.
In October, the same legal entity also faced an administrative filing over alleged involvement with an "undesirable organization."
