Russia may be represented by human rights commissioner Yana Lantratova and presidential special envoy Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, at a planned White House meeting with U.S. first lady Melania Trump on November 5. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said so on November 4, stressing that their participation depended on visas and travel arrangements.
Peskov said not all members of Lantratova's accompanying delegation had received U.S. visas at the time of his comments. He expressed hope that Dmitriev would attend but described Lantratova as Russia's main intended participant, provided she could arrive in time.
The White House had earlier announced a humanitarian meeting between Russian and Ukrainian representatives. Potential Ukrainian participants included ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets and lawmaker Davyd Arakhamia.
