Russia's Federal Agency for State Property Management has opened a selection process for an organizer to handle the sale of part of the state's stake in shipping company Sovcomflot. The proposed package comprises 7.8% of the company's shares minus one share. Applications to organize the sale are being accepted from November 3 through November 17, 2026.
The Russian state currently owns 82.8% of Sovcomflot. If the entire proposed package is sold, it would retain 75% plus one share. The authorities have begun looking for an organizer; the shares have not yet been sold.
Based on market quotations, Reuters estimated that the package could bring in around 15 billion rubles. That is an indicative valuation, not an agreed sale price or money already received by the government.
In a Finance Ministry explanation relayed by The Insider, the proposed sale was linked to the company's positive performance. At the same time, according to the outlet, Sovcomflot reported a loss of 787.8 million rubles under Russian accounting standards for January–September 2026. That figure relates to a particular reporting period and is not the consolidated result of the entire group.
