Russian forces launched 310 drones in an attack that began at around 6 p.m. on November 3 and continued into the night of November 4, according to Ukraine's air force. The Ukrainian military said 81 of them were jet-powered variants of the Shahed drone.
In a preliminary update as of 8 a.m. on November 4, Ukrainian forces said 272 drones had been shot down or suppressed, including 64 jet-powered drones. The air force reported impacts at 19 locations, falling debris at 15 and more than 20 drones still airborne when the report was issued. These are interim figures provided by the Ukrainian military.
Ukrainian local services also reported effects of the strikes in the Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad and Rivne regions, as well as in Kyiv.
Russia's Defense Ministry, meanwhile, said its forces had struck energy facilities in the Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions. It identified the 750-kilovolt Nalyvaikivka and 110-kilovolt Chyzhivka substations among its targets. Those are targets identified by the Russian ministry, not independently established reports of damage to the substations. The ministry also claimed to have attacked a cargo ship near Odesa, alleging it was carrying military supplies.
