Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has awarded U.S. first lady Melania Trump the Order of Princess Olga, First Class. Decree No. 1079/2026 is dated November 2, 2026; public reports of the award appeared on November 4.
The decree cites humanitarian support for Ukraine, human rights and charitable work, assistance to Ukrainian children and support for residents of occupied territories.
Ukrainian representatives also highlighted Melania Trump's involvement in efforts to arrange a humanitarian pause around occupied Oleshky in the Kherson region. The U.S. first lady had previously spoken of the possibility of evacuating approximately 800 people. The figure was an estimate of potential evacuees, not a confirmed count of people who had left.
