Anonymous bomb threats disrupted dozens of flights across Europe on November 5. Some aircraft were diverted or searched after landing. ANSA and The Guardian reported the incidents. The Guardian said the affected flights landed safely and searches found nothing suspicious.
Some emails sent to airports in Italy and Bulgaria were signed in the name of Male State, a Russian far-right movement. The signature does not establish that the movement’s members sent the emails, and the authors had not been identified at the time of reporting.
Authorities in several countries were examining possible links between the incidents. The Guardian reported that investigators had no evidence that a state or terrorist group organised the threats.
