Polish security services announced on November 5 that they had detained six people — five Polish nationals and one Russian woman — in an investigation into the illegal export of components used to manufacture weapons to Russia. A court remanded four suspects in custody for three months; the other two were placed under noncustodial pretrial restrictions.
According to Polish prosecutors, the alleged scheme operated between June 2023 and December 2025 in Poland, Lithuania and Russia. Investigators believe the suspects purchased ammunition parts and arranged their transport to the Kaliningrad region, including in vehicles fitted with hidden compartments. Prosecutors value the components allegedly exported at more than 2 million zlotys.
Poland's Internal Security Agency searched 21 locations. The operation and arrests took place between October 21 and November 2. All six face charges relating to participation in an organized criminal group and the illicit trade in strategic goods; four are also accused of working for Russian intelligence.
