Many Excel-format statistical tables on Russia's Rosstat website remained inaccessible after the agency announced its restoration, Verstka found on November 6. Documents were still listed on the site, but download attempts returned a 404 error saying that the requested file could not be found.
The outlet checked sections covering prices, population, the labour market, education, finance and other indicators. It said the failures occurred across different browsers, both with and without a VPN. Some statistics remained available in PDFs, archived files and the EMISS portal.
On November 5, Rosstat announced that its website was returning to service after a cyberattack. The agency warned that parts of its infrastructure remained isolated and that some functions might still be unavailable.
